Review

Classic Warships still has available this USS Independence CVL 22 book.  If your planning on building the newly released Academy 1/350 scale USS Indianapolis CA 35 model kit, then this book is for you.  Steve Wiper of Classic Warships brings us Warship Pictorial number 10 of the Indianapolis and Portland photo album.  In this book a history of the USS Portland CA 33 and the USS Indianapolis CA 35 heavy cruisers from commission to their demise.

This very handy reference pictorial book is loaded with 121 black and white photographs.  Detailed photos highlighting the heavy cruisers' configurations from post war to World War Two were obtained from sources the United States, and from individual collectors.  Steve gives the reader never before published photos and very up close views of their different gun mounts and antenna configurations. The ships camouflage measures are noted and pointed out as well.  This book is printed as a Photo Album, and it is an excellent resource for the ship modelers and historians alike.

Thanks goes out to Steve Wiper of www.classicwarships.com for the review sample.
