First Look
One of the more interesting (for me) releases of colors in the White Ensign Models Colourcoats series is this set recreating many of the colors used by the Soviet Air Force during WW2.
If I understand the process correctly, these colors were recreated from paint chips that were acquired during the research that led to the book " Soviet Air Force Fighter Colours 1941-1945" by Erik Pilawskii and illustrated by Chris Banyai-Riepl.
If you look at the colors on the top of these tins, you're looking at quite a few colors that haven't been available from any manufacturer prior to this.
The eighteen colors in this series include:
- ACS01 - AII Blue
- ACS02 - AMT7 Blue
- ACS03 - AII Green
- ACS04 - AII/AMT Black
- ACS05 - WUP Interior Primer
- ACS06 - IMUP Metal Primer
- ACS07 - ALG-5 Metal Primer
- ACS08 - AMT-4 Olive-Green
- ACS09 - AMT-1 Light Gray
- ACS10 - AMT-1 Dark Gray
- ACS11 - AMT-11 Blue-Gray
- ACS12 - AMT-12 Dark Gray
- ACS13 - Tractor Green
- ACS14 - AE9 Gray
- ACS15 - AII Light Brown
- ACS16 - AII Dark Brown
- ACS17 - 4BO Army Green
- ACS18 - AII Dark Green

My sincere thanks to White Ensign Models for these review samples!
