First Look
Polar Lights has released a new-tool kit of the USS Reliant in 1/1000 scale, not to be confused with the older AMT kit in 1/650 scale. This kit is molded in white styrene and presented on two parts trees plus the upper and lower hull halves, one tree of clear parts, and one nice display base molded in black styrene with a metal rod.
This kit is actually a snap-together (no glue) kit so this is a nice model for fledgling modelers as well as more experienced modelers wanting to add those special touches like lighting to the kit. Featured in the second Star Trek movie 'Wrath of Khan', the Reliant was a Miranda-class starship which made appearances in several of the Star Trek TV series as well. This kit has some nice surface detailing as well as a nice decal sheet to help bring this subject to life.
If you're looking for a fun kit to add to your starship collection or wanting to take this kit to a more advanced level, this is just the easy project you're looking for!
My sincere thanks to Round 2 Models for this review sample!
