First Look
Moebius Models continues to flex its creativity muscles with this completely new tool kit of the Creature from the Black Lagoon in 1/8th scale. As with many of the other kits released from the old Hollywood classics, this kit comes complete with a faithfully reproduced creature with all of the costume details nicely recreated, a nice display stand, and a half-naked (by 1950s standards) heroine passed out in the creature's arms.
As you can see in the kit images, this project is quite simple and you might spend more time painting than assembling this model. The parts layout is very straighforward and will allow for each figure to be assembled and painted before final integration.
If you're wanting another nice display piece for your classic monster movie figure collection, Moebius has really taken the original Aurora kit concept and not only enlarged it, but developed the details from studio references and added the compulsory Julie Adams-like figure to the vignette.
My sincere thanks to Moebius Models for this review sample!
