F-4E/F Phantom II

The Minicraft kit of the USAF F-4E Phantom II consists of just 33 styrene parts molded in grey and 1 styrene part molded in clear. The kit features raised panel lines but they are fine and will look good under paint. Details are good for this scale and flash is minimal.

The model can be built in an "in flight" configuration or as a stationary version. No cockpit detail is provided but Minicraft has provided a very cool looking decal that is to be placed under the canopy to provide a full cockpit look.

Speaking of decals, a beautiful sheet is provided by Cartograf and includes markings for two aircraft. They are:

  • USAF F-4E, 57 FIS, Keflavik, Iceland, 1980
  • German Luftwaffe F-4F, Holloman AFB, ca. 1995

A very nice kit that will build quickly and give the modeler a great replica of an F-4E.

My sincere thanks to Minicraft Models for this review sample!
