First Look
If you'll recall, Meng had produced two variants of the Merkava main battle tank and has now followed up with this kit featuring an IDF tank crew at rest. This is a set of four figures representing an Israeli Army tank crew wearing contemporary tanker coveralls and gear. One figure is posed is the hatch drinking from a bottle of water (eight bottles molded in clear styrene are included), one is seated on the glacis plate talking on his cell phone, and two others are seated and observing something in the distance.
To my knowledge, this is the first set of injection molded figures of this type. As you'll see in the parts image, the molding is crisp and sculpting was very nicely done. This set consists of one tree molded in light gray styrene and providing the four figures while the other is the clear tree containing the aforementioned bottles.
This is yet another nice kit release from Meng Model and I'm sure that at least three of these figures can be used as-is for the Academy Magach 6B Gal Batash kit (the one seated on the glacis plate will need to be 'adjusted' to the different slope of the Patton glacis plate.
My sincere thanks to Stevens International for this review sample!
