First Look
Master Box is back with another interesting figure set. This set depicts a squad of 101st Airborne Division paratroopers catching a ride atop a British Sherman tank. The set also depicts one of the paratroopers dismounted from the tank and providing a woman with something to eat. As depicted in the miniseries 'Band of Brothers', soldiers moving inland from the Normandy invasion witnessed public 'trials' of Nazi collaborators, and the women who had voluntary or involuntary relationships with German soldiers had their heads shaved. This scene depicts one such person with her child and belongings on the street.
Presented on two parts trees molded in gray styrene, the set includes nine figures: one British tank commander, six 101st AB tank riders, one dismounted 101st soldier, and one 'shaved' woman. This set would make a great diorama or vignette right out of the box (bring your own Sherman). The sculpting is sharp on these figures which will make painting straightforward.
My sincere thanks to Stevens International for this review sample!
