White Ensign Models continues to turn out some very interesting detail sets in their 1/700 scale range. Their photo-etch detail sets add levels of detail and fidelity to a variety of ship subjects, and this release is definitely no exception!

This set is s collection of the major radar antennas fitted to US Navy combatants during World War 2. While many AMS modelers will receive the appropriate antennas with a master detail set designed for a given ship subject, some modelers don't care to apply all of those details. They do recognize that radar antennas are more realistic in appearance when done in photo-etch versus styrene and want the option for an antenna-only set. Others are still waiting for detail sets for their favorite subjects, and this set will address one of the more visible details on a ship model.

Radars

As you can see in the photo, this detsil set provides a nice array of antennas which include:

  • CXAM
  • CXAM-1
  • SA
  • SC
  • SC2/SC4
  • SG
  • SK
  • SK-2
  • SM/SM-1
  • SP
  • SR
  • TDY
  • TDY-1
  • Mk.3
  • Mk.8
  • Mk.22
  • Mk.25
  • Mk.27

These detail sets are the lifeblood of naval AMS modelers and the crew at White Ensign Models continue to turn out some impressive work at a very reasonable price.

Definitely recommended!

My sincere thanks to White Ensign Models for this review sample!
