Scale Aircraft Conversions (SAC) produces an impressive array of white metal replacement landing gear for a variety of models. Some of these sets correct different issues that appeared in production kits, while others are simple common sense replacements to have stronger landing gear on your model.
This release is targeted for the Williams Bros. 1/72 C-46 Commando kit. The venerable Williams Bros kit has been on the market for some time and requires a bit of skill to assemble the model as it fits not unlike a limited run tooling kit. Nevertheless, this is currently the only styrene kit of the aircraft on the market and it can build into a nice model with some patience and skill. When you do go to the trouble of getting this kit together, you'll definitely want to upgrade the styrene landing gear for this nice white metal alternative. This set provides replacement main gear struts as well as the retraction arms and a replacement tailwheel strut with tire. All of the parts are drop-in replacements for the kit gear.
You can obtain SAC landing gear from your favorite hobby retailer or online hobby shop. If your retailer can't get these for you and you can't this set at your favorite online retailer, then you can get quick service from Scale Aircraft Conversions directly.
My sincere thanks to Scale Aircraft Conversions for this review sample!
