Pavla has developed several interesting details and corrections for the HobbyBoss 1/72 Mi-8/Mi-17 kit. This release replaces the engine cowlings on the basic kit and provide some very nice details.
Out of the box, the HobbyBoss kit represents the later TV-3-powered Mi-8M/Mi-17 aircraft. This Pavla kit really backdates the HobbyBoss kit to the earlier TV-2 powered Mi-8s with the distinctive longer engine fairings. Take a look at that casting! This set provides not only the new top shell, but also the intake and exhaust ducts. You can use this set to replicate any of the earlier generation military or civilian Mi-8s. Look to Wikipedia for the early version Mi-8 variants that this set will help replicate versus the later variants as depicted in the HobbyBoss kit.
If you want to backdate your HobbyBoss kit to the earlier Hip, Pavla has the parts to get the job done!
Definitely recommended!
My sincere thanks to Pavla Models for this review sample.
