First Look
Hussar is one of the brand names produced by AirConnection in Canada. Besides importing a wide range of books, decals, and detail sets from around the world, they have embarked on a growing line of armor accessories in 1/35 scale. They also started producing 1/16 scale details for the Tamiya Tiger and more recently, the Trumpeter T-34 series. They now have ammunition sets for the 76mm main gun for the two T-34/76 releases as well as these 85mm rounds for the T-34/85.
Molded in resin, this set provides three different types of rounds: UO-365 Fragmentation Round, UBR-365 Armor-Piercing Round, and UBR-365PK Sub-Caliber Armor-Piercing Projectile. Each set comes with two of each type of round, as well as two empty shell casings.
In addition to the resin shells and casings, a set of photo-etched caps are included to provide the primer details on the bottom of each shell. To round this set off is a set of decals which provide the shell and projectile stenciling, all in Russian, to make each of these shells a detailed model of its own right. The photo to the left illustrates how the rounds will look after completion.
This is a great set to add greater visual fidelity to the Trumpeter 1/16 T-34/85. While the kit is exquisitely detailed straight out of the box, a few sets of these in place of the kit ammunition will visually enhance the model and distinquish it from others that will appear on the contect tables. This set is highly recommended.
