First Look
Eduard from the Czech Republic is easily the most prolific producer of aftermarket details. Period. Their series of photo-etched detail sets have brought additional fidelity to otherwise bland subjects, and have taken even the best-produced models and kicked them up a notch or two with details that cannot be produced with injection-molded plastic.
Here is Eduard's landing flap set for the Eduard 1/48 Spitfire Mk.VIII kit. This set provides templates to remove the landing flaps molded closed on the kit wing and provides the internal wing framing and separate flaps with internal structures. These flap techniques currently used by Eduard replace the previous flap sets where each and every rib and stringer must be applied individually. With this system, the parts are already in place, they just need to be folded and twisted to achieve the details.
If you want that extra look of realism in your Eduard Spitfire, you'll want to drop the flaps!
My sincere thanks to Eduard for this review sample!
