First Look

Eduard from the Czech Republic is easily the most prolific producer of aftermarket details. Period. Their series of photo-etched detail sets have brought additional fidelity to otherwise bland subjects, and have taken even the best-produced models and kicked them up a notch or two with details that cannot be produced with injection-molded plastic.

HEMTT Interior Detail Set

In this release, Eduard has produced an extensive cab interior detail set for any of the Italeri 1/35 HEMTT releases including the M977 cargo truck, M978 tanker, and M985 gun truck kits. This set includes two frets of photo-etched details (one of which is color-printed) and five pages of instructions.

I would have been happy with the color-printed parts as they provide the missing visual detail inside the Spartan Italeri cab. When I saw the other photo-etched sheet and what those parts are designed for, I am really looking forward to a HEMTT build. Eduard replaces the simplistic crew seat mounts with realistic mounts, replicates the various unique facets of the center console/drive train cover, and more. In other words, this set will make you want to keep the doors of your HEMTT open to show off that cab! To get a look inside one, here's a quick walk around of a HEMTT that visited our plant a few years ago.

At long last we have a nice set of details to dress up the HEMTT kits that have been on the market for some time plus the recently released gun truck. Thank you Eduard!

My sincere thanks to Eduard for this review sample!
