First Look
As you know, Eduard produces a wide range of aftermarket detail sets for aircraft, armor, and ship kits. When a new and noteworthy kit is released, Eduard will usually follow within a few months with one or more detail sets to enhance that kit. When Tamiya released its 1/32 F4U-1 Corsair kit, Eduard soon followed with several detail sets. With the release of Tamiya's 1/32 F4U-1A Corsair, of course Eduard brought addressed this kit as well. Here is Eduard's F4U-1 exterior detail set, let's take a closer look:
This set consists of one fret of photo-etched parts which provides parts for a few area's of Tamiya's kit (which is beautifully detailed out of the box). These include caps for the visible ends of the landing flaps, detailed surfaces for inside the wheel well walls, detailed surfaces and plumbing inside the wing folds, oleo scissor replacements for the main gear struts, fuse details for the bombs, etc.
This is another nice enhancement that will be easy to install in the Tamiya kit and help add additional fidelity to that nice kit. Using this set with the other releases from Eduard will raise the level of detail in this kit to a higher level.
My sincere thanks to Eduard for this review sample!
