In this latest release, Cobra Company transforms the Panda 1/35 UH-1N Huey into a more detailed representation of the twin-Huey operated by the USAF. More specifically, this set transforms the Panda kit into the configuration of the UH-1N flown by the 20th Special Operations Squadron (SOS) in their unconventional warfare role. Known as the Green Hornets, the 20th operated the single-engined UH-1F/P is Southeast Asia and transitioned into the UH-1N in the early 1970s.
This set provides all of the parts needed to correct the lines of the aircraft and add some much-needed detailing in the cockpit. The set includes a new nose, nose structure supports, instrument panel, center pedestal, overhead console, pilots seats with armor plating, replacement doors with interior detailing, cyclic grips, fire extinquishers, and more.
This set brings the aircraft up to 'slick' configuration - the airlift version. If you want to replicate one of the armed Green Hornet gunships, you'll need this minigun set as well..
If you're more into Marine Corps aviation, Cobra Company also has a detail set to transform the Panda kit into the contemporary USMC twin Huey.
This set is definitely recommended for the Huey modeler and is available directly from Cobra Company (www.cobracompany.com).
My sincere thanks to Cobra Company (www.cobracompany.com) for this review sample!
