Cobra Company has released a several detail sets for the Monogram 1/48 and Trumpeter 1/35 Mi-24 Hind kits. Clearly this subject has been a labor of love. This latest detail set is no exception. Cobra Company has provided updates for the interior of the 1/35 Trumpeter kit.

Molded in tan styrene, you can see how extensive this detail set really is! The set starts off with completely new cockpit tubs for the gunner and pilot. These tubs replace the kit cockpits which aren't bad, but don't capture the details of the actual aircraft as nice as these new parts.

The set also includes new crew seats, new pilot's instrument panel, pilot's entry door, and other nicely cast details.

For the rear passenger compartment, this set provides a new ceiling and rear bulkhead which have more detail than the kit parts. Also included are the first aid packs that are mounted around the rear compartment.

This set also takes care of another important, if not subtle detail - weight and balance. With the resin cockpit tubs in the nose, the kit will settle nicely on its landing gear without concern for supplemental weights in the nose. There may not have been a danger that the Trumpeter kit could become a tail-sitter, but I like to err to caution.

This set is definitely recommended for the Mi-24 lover (I have two of the Trumpeter kits!) as these will help to set your model apart from the rest. Check out the Mi-24V exterior detail set also available from Cobra Company for the Trumpeter Hind!
