I met up with the new owner of CAM resin details at the 2006 IPMS/USA National Convention and not only is he reissuing the existing CAM detail line, he's already releasing new subjects as well.
This set is a rather simple upgrade for the Hasegawa 1/32 F-5E Tiger II kit. Simply replace the kit radome with this new one.
Why do you want to replace the kit radome? If you're modeling an older F-5E, the kit radome will be fine. But after the failed attempt to get the F-5G into production, which later become known as the F-20, its sharknose radome was offered as an aerodynamic enhancement to F-5E/F Tiger IIs around the world. Check your references to see if the aircraft you are modeling has the normal or sharknose. Also, see if you have one of the latest releases of the Hasegawa F-5E kits. Some of these provide the sharknose in the kit as an option, but if you have one of the older releases, this simple conversion will bring your bird up to date.
If there is a 1/32 F-5E in your future, you might consider this nice enhancement. Recommended! Check out this and other CAM detail sets at John's Models (www.johnsmodels.com).
My sincere thanks to John's Models for this review sample!
