First Look
Attack Squadron from Poland produces some impressive resin kits, details, and conversions. One that caught my eye was this set of C-130J engine nacelles/spinners available in both 1/72 and 1/48 scale. I have the Italeri 1/48 C-130J kit but wound up setting it aside as the engine nacelles were too short which made their shapes look odd as well. Here is a nice correction worth noting:
This is Attack Squadron's 1/48 scale Rolls Royce engine nacelle replacement set for the Italeri C-130J kit. This set is molded in gray resin and consists of 24 parts. If you're wondering how these fit on the kit (as well you should), Attack Squadron described their first release of this set as being slightly undersized after the resin shrank after casting. They re-engineered their molds, replaced the nacelle sets that they had already sold, and support their products! You can find some nice shots of these test-fitted to the Italeri kit on their website.
I happened to find this set on eBay one evening and decided to fix that engine problem. I am hoping that Attack Squadron will consider a similar fix for the T56-A-15 engines on the C-130H kits which also suffer from short nacelles. This is a great set and a nice price and now I just need to get my C-130J into the ever-growing build queue once again.
This set is available from HobbyZone USA (look here).
