First Look
You may remember the interesting decal series first released a few years ago by Airscale? These were instrument faces with sheets replicating typical instruments found in Luftwaffe, RAF, USAAF, etc., aircraft. What this series allowed you to do is to produce a super-detailed cockpit without waiting for some other aftermarket company to produce a ready-made solution or perhaps to do that solution better for yourself.
Airscale is back with a new series called Pilots Notes. In this release, we have a fret of photo-etched parts in 1/48 scale which provide a wealth of cockpit radio control panels, throttle quadrant levers, trim wheels, circuit breaker panels, and other control panels. Some of these details are specific to Luftwaffe subjects while others are found in RAF or USAAF types. In short, this is a master sheet of details that will be handy for a wide variety of projects in your future. This set is also available in other scales.
If you bring this set together with other releases from Airscale, you can detail just about any World War II era cockpit you'd like in many of the popular scales. Check them out!
You can order this set at HobbyZone USA.
My sincere thanks to Airscale for this review sample!
