First Look
FCM Decals has an interesting line of aftermarket decals from Brazil. The subjects covered in this line include many Brazilian civil and military aircraft subjects, WWI aircraft, and the occasional look at the aircraft of other nations as well.
In this set, we have an interesting pair of F-5E Tiger II fighters in Brazilian Air Force service. One of the two has mid-life updates giving it the designation of F-5EM. The two subjects here are:
- F-5EM, 4871, 1°/14° G.Av. 'Pampa', Canoas - RS, Brazil, 2006
- F-5E, 4837, 1°/1° Grupo de Caca, Base Aerea de Sta. Cruz, Brazil, 1985
These decals are printed by Microscale and provide an interesting twist. The gray rectangle below the decals are vinyl masks which allow for painting of the subdued national markings on the F-5EM - very nice indeed. If you don't want to go the mask approach to these markings, the decals are there too.
