First Look
Here is the latest release from Caracal Models just in time for the recent HobbyBoss 1/48 YF-23 Black Widow II kit. This set provides markings for both prototype aircraft. The HobbyBoss kit only provided markings for a notional airframe.
The subjects covered in this set include:
- YF-23 PAV-1, 87-0800
- YF-23 PAV-2, 87-0801
The markings are nicely printed (by Cartograf) and provide all of the distinctive markings and stenciling found on both flight test airframes including the unique intake boundary layer mesh and the VERY short-lived red hourglass worn under PAV-1. This is exactly what was needed to finish the HobbyBoss kit in one of the two distinctive flight test schemes.
