First Look
Chris Busbridge Decals is a new undertaking whose first offering is a set of nice markings for the Classic Airframes 1/48 Fiat Cr.32.
This decal set is printed by Cartograph and provides markings for seven aircraft:
- Cr.32bis, 2991, 73 Sqn, 73-1, Col. Pezze, Ferrara, 1938
- Cr.32 quater, unk, 80 Sqn, 1 Stormo, 80-7, Campoformido, 1935/36
- Cr.32bis, 4177, 362 Sqn, Ciampino, 1939
- Cr.32bis, 3187, 4 Stormo, Col. Grandinetti
- Cr.32 quater, unk, 410 Sqn, 'Romantica Squadriglia', 410-8, Africa Orienale, 1941
- Cr.32 quater, 4227, 163 Sqn, 163-6, Egeo, 1940
- Cr.32bis, 4666, 160 Sqn, 50 Stormo, 160-10, Africa settentrionale, 1940/41
The decal printing is perfectly in register. This is a significant point as you'll notice that all of the decals are one layer. The roundels are printed with and without the white backgrounds. The white backgrounds are not printed separately as some decal companies are doing now. The multicolor squadron and air force emblems are also printed as one decal, not in a separate decal for each color layer that is also becoming the frustrating norm. In other words, these decals are very nicely done with no shortcuts that mean more work for you.
My sincere thanks to Chris Busbridge Decals for this review sample!
