First Look

AOA Decals has returned with a new decal set and a new series. This set replicates the markings of the two A-6E Intruders that were modified (backdated) to appear as A-6A Intruders during Vietnam. The two aircraft featured are Devil 501 and Devil 505, both aircraft out of VA-196 aboard the USS Independence during the combat segment of the movie 'Flight of the Intruder'.

This set provides markings for both aircraft and stencils for one, but this set does so for 1/32, 1/48, and 1/72, all on one sheet. Markings include 151105 (which is really the BuNo for an A-4E Skyhawk) and 151686 (which is really the BuNo for a CH-53A Sea Stallion), but it's Hollywood, right?

If you want to replicate one of the Intruders from the movie, this set provides you with the markings in your favorite scale, the kit(s) and paint are up to you.

My sincere thanks to AOA Decals for this review sample!
